How to Schedule an Appointment
I assume that you have explored this website and have an idea of my services and approach to treatment. If not, then by all means look around a bit more! A face-to-face evaluation will give us a better idea of whether or not we can work together, but my hope is that the information found here will make an initial consultation a bit easier. And yes, I treat patients who do not share my Christian beliefs!
Birmingham Christian Psychiatry is a private, self-pay practice where each patient is responsible for payment of his or her treatment. I am an approved provider for some insurance companies, but do not bill insurance directly. When you pay for your treatment at the time of service, you receive paperwork to file with your insurance carrier. Check with your carrier to clarify your benefits and reimbursement.
Fee Structure - After having kept the same fees for over 10 yrs, as of May, 2017, I must slightly increase my fees. Below you will see different appointment duration. Please note that I schedule very few 25 minute appointments, as this is simply not enough time for the treatment that most people need.
Initial Evaluation: $300
Follow up appointments:
25 minutes: $140
50 minutes: $250
90 minutes: $350
I do not perform brief "med checks" as we need more than 5-10 minutes to adequately assess and discuss where we are in our work together.
When you come for your appointment, please be on time. A psychiatrist does not perform ‘procedures’ but simply bills for the allotted time. Be prompt or cancel at least 24 hrs before your scheduled appointment as you will be billed for missed or late cancellations.
